Garmin’s own MapSource often fails to uninstall custom maps, leaving behind gigabytes of data. MapSetToolKit v1.77 scans for all registered families and allows you to delete the registry keys and physical files simultaneously.
Historically, users struggling with the tedious task of manually updating configuration files (such as .ini , .xml , or proprietary dataset headers) when moving a project folder found salvation in MapsetToolkit. It automated the drudgery of path remapping, ensuring that a project didn't break just because it was moved to a different drive.
The most common use case for is installing a custom map set. The process is straightforward:
Use it alongside cgpsmapper to generate necessary .tdb (Track Detail Database) and overview map files from individual map tiles.
Click the “Install Map Set” button. Navigate to the folder containing your .tdb file. Select the .tdb file, not the .img files.
Your map folder contains only .img files. Fix: v1.77 cannot install raw .img files alone. You need to use cGPSmapper or GPSMapEdit to generate a .tdb file first. Without a TDB, the map set is invisible to Garmin software.
