To the uninitiated, the name sounds like a prank. A juvenile joke. But for those who have witnessed their seventeen minutes of screen time in Julius , the name is a gateway to a labyrinth of questions about child acting, forgotten sibling psychology, and a missing person case that has never been solved.
Julius: The Hardon Twins and the Case of the Missing Boy Star is a 1980s cult classic that blends pulp detective tropes with queer erotica and high-fashion aesthetics. Directed by the influential duo known as the Hardon Twins, the film is often cited for its dreamlike atmosphere and surrealist approach to the adult thriller genre. Plot Overview
The scene cuts. It was never in the theatrical cut or the DVD release. Director Laughlin, in that same Trash Auteur interview, claimed he had no memory of filming that scene. “We didn’t have a parlor set,” he insisted. “We shot in a warehouse.” To the uninitiated, the name sounds like a prank
Julius, grateful for the twins' efforts, continued to shine brightly, guiding those who traversed the galaxy. Nova and Julius's friendship grew stronger, and their bond became a beacon of hope and resilience against the challenges of the cosmos.
The Star Sorcerer revealed that he had indeed purchased Julius, intending to use his stellar energy to fuel a powerful spell. The spell, known as "The Great Cosmic Convergence," aimed to bring about a new era of peace and harmony in the galaxy by aligning the celestial bodies in a perfect cosmic dance. Kip Thorne remains missing. As of 2026, he would be 35 years old. His parents still maintain a website, “Find Kip,” which receives occasional tips from viewers who swear they saw a man with Kip’s distinct cowlick working at a gas station in Tucumcari, New Mexico, always accompanied by two silent, identical women in their late twenties.
The story serves as a critique of the industry that creates stars only to let them vanish. It was never in the theatrical cut or the DVD release
The mystery begins with the name itself. “Hardon” is not a stage name. Production records from Moonlight Pictures, leaked onto a forgotten Geocities archive in 2008, list the actresses as “Anya Hardon” and “Dasha Hardon,” ages 8 at the time of filming. No Social Security numbers. No contact information. Their headshots were two identical Polaroids stapled together, featuring the girls staring blankly at the lens without a hint of a smile.
Kip Thorne, the actor who played Julius, was poised for stardom. After Julius , he landed a guest spot on That ’70s Show and voiced a character in a DreamWorks animated feature. But in 2007, at age 16, Kip Thorne walked out of his Sherman Oaks home to take out the trash. He never returned. His parents reported him missing. The police found his sneakers in a storm drain three blocks away, arranged neatly with the laces tied together. There were no signs of struggle.
