Beyond the glitch hunting, Update 2.1.0 brings genuine technical improvements that affect every player, not just the pros.

By removing the need to attempt frame-perfect bomb jumps that could kill a run, the update streamlines the intended path. A new route has already emerged that saves roughly 45 seconds in the early game by utilizing a newly discovered, legitimate slide jump that was previously impossible due to a physics conflict that 2.1.0 inadvertently resolved.

While the crash fix is the "hard" fix of the patch, Update 2.1.0 also introduces several "soft" improvements—Quality of Life (QoL) changes that respect the player's time and enhance accessibility.

. A single mistake results in an immediate game over, mirroring the "Dread Mode" difficulty introduced in version 2.0.0 The Verdict

The Pseudo-Wave Beam (a glitch that lets you shoot through walls by exploiting the aiming camera) has been partially neutered. While you can still perform the glitch visually, the game now has a collision check for door activation. You can no longer unlock a door on the other side of a wall via Pseudo-Wave unless you have line-of-sight. This closes several "out of bounds" speedrunning routes used in the Any% category.
