Fanuc Parameter 8901 Jun 2026

[Interlock condition active] ↓ [CNC checks *IT signal] ↓ [*IT = 1] → Override active → Check P8901 → Move allowed on bits set to 1 ↓ [*IT = 0] → No override → All axes remain interlocked (cannot move)

This is a critical point. FANUC has evolved its parameter numbering over decades. fanuc parameter 8901

Modifying this parameter requires entering "Parameter Write Enable" (PWE) mode to unlock the system's memory. Common CNC Machine Parameter Guide - ALLPCB [Interlock condition active] ↓ [CNC checks *IT signal]

| Application | Typical P8901 Setting | Reason | |-------------|----------------------|--------| | Machining center (door open for setup) | 00000111 (X,Y,Z) | Allow manual movement of main axes, lock rotary table. | | Lathe with live tooling | 00000111 (X,Z,C?) | Allow X/Z, lock C-axis during interlock override. | | Pallet changer system | 00000001 (X only) | Only allow one axis (e.g., pallet slide) when interlock released. | | Grinding machine | 00000011 (X,Z) | Lock Y or U axis during wheel dressing override. | Common CNC Machine Parameter Guide - ALLPCB |

If you cannot modify 8901, check:

* Verify IT signal input PMC signal address G8.0 (usually) – must = 1 for override.

It determines when the Interlock Release Signal ( *IT ) is activated.
