Right now, as I write this, I am looking out the kitchen window. My Clematis 'Bill MacKenzie' is in full golden form. It is a tangutica, a species type with small, nodding, lantern-shaped yellow flowers and explosive, fluffy seed heads that look like spun glass in the autumn light. It is crawling over a dead tree stump I was too lazy to remove.
