This is the most debated change. In the movie, Goku uses a pseudo-version of Ultra Instinct (-Sign-) against Broly. In the , Goku explicitly states he cannot use Ultra Instinct at will yet. Instead, he relies on Super Saiyan God and Blue, making the fight feel less experimental and more desperate.
