A physical lag switch involves cutting the signal wire in an Ethernet cable and attaching a momentary switch. Pressing the switch breaks the circuit for 0.5–2 seconds. To the game server, you appear to have lost connection briefly. Upon reconnection, the client sends a burst of "delayed actions" (movement, shots, position updates).
