Season 1 also introduced us to the vocal powerhouses of the department: Deputy S. Jones (Cedric Yarbrough) and Deputy Raineesha Williams (Niecy Nash). Jones serves as the straight man, often the only voice of reason in a room full of chaos. His vocal range (literally, he can sound like a siren) and his patience for his colleagues' racism and incompetence make him the most relatable character. Raineesha, with her signature "ghetto-fabulous" attitude and signature booty walk, became an instant icon. Nash’s ability to deliver cutting insults while adjusting her uniform remains one of the show’s greatest assets.
