: A modern, WinPE-based recovery tool. It features specialized utilities (found under "Security -> Passwords") that can often reset BIOS/CMOS settings on various motherboards.

To achieve a "CMOS cleaner" effect via USB, you can use specialized diagnostic tools that include CMOS wiping utilities. 🛠️ Popular Tools for USB Boot CMOS Clearing Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD)

Resets the BIOS to factory status, removing all custom configurations and administrative passwords.

The old-school method of finding the CMOS clear jumper (or removing the CR2032 battery) has several drawbacks:

: A comprehensive collection of diagnostic tools. It includes several CMOS-specific utilities like Hiren’s BootCD PE

Some modern UEFI motherboards (especially 2020+) lock access to I/O ports 0x70/0x71 when the BIOS is in "Protected" mode. In such cases:

Every computer user, from casual browsers to hardcore gamers, has encountered that moment of sheer panic: you turn on your PC, and instead of loading Windows, you are met with a black screen, a beep code, or a prompt asking for a password you never set. Often, these issues stem from a corrupted BIOS or a forgotten supervisor password.

Once your USB is ready, follow these steps to clear your BIOS settings:

In the past, a simple DOS boot disk was enough. However, modern computers utilize UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) and often lack legacy support for old DOS drivers. Therefore, creating a bootable USB drive that can run requires a specific approach.

Unlike earlier versions, introduces broader chipset compatibility, support for both legacy BIOS and modern UEFI firmware, and improved error handling when accessing low-level I/O ports.

I love how you say you are right in the title itself. Clearly nobody agrees with you. The episode was so great it was nominated for an Emmy. Nothing tops the chain mail curse episode? Really? Funny but not even close to the highlight of the series.

Dissent is dissent. I liked the chain mail curse. Also the last two episodes of the season were great.

Honestly i fully agree. That episode didn’t seem like the rest of the series, the humour was closer to other sitcoms (friends, how i met your mother) with its writing style and subplots. The show has irreverent and stupid humour, but doesn’t feel forced. Every ‘joke’ in the episode just appealed to the usual late night sitcom audience and was predictable (oh his toothpick is an effortless disguise, oh the teams money catches fire, oh he finds out the talking bass is worthless, etc). I didn’t have a laugh all episode save the “one human alcoholic drink please” thing which they stretched out. Didn’t feel like i was watching the same show at all and was glad when they didn’t return to this forced humour. Might also be because the funniest characters with best delivery (Nandor and Guillermo) weren’t in it

And yet…that is the episode that got the Emmy nomination! What am I missing? I felt like I was watching a bad improv show where everyone was laughing at their friends but I wasn’t in on the joke.
