Brandauer is a revelation. His Largo is not a cackling madman. He is jealous, possessive, and oddly sympathetic. When he realizes Domino loves Bond, his hurt is palpable. He is one of the few Bond villains who feels legitimately insane, not just evil.
Before Logan (2017) or Unforgiven (1992), there was Never Say Never Again . It dared to ask: What happens to a superspy when the world moves on?
