I need to enter license and validation code every time I open Rhino 7

Navigate to C:\ProgramData\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0\License Manager (replace '7.0' with your version) and delete the files inside. your license is not valid. rhino needs a license to run

In Finder, use and paste: ~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/X.0/ (Replace X.0 with your version). Delete the 8.0 or 7.0 folder containing license data. I need to enter license and validation code

On Mac, ensure you have Read & Write privileges for the /Users/Shared/McNeel/Rhinoceros folder. You can fix this by right-clicking the folder, selecting Get Info , and adjusting permissions at the bottom.

The message is intimidating, but it is almost always a solvable communication problem, not a death sentence for your workflow.

Older versions of Rhino (e.g., Rhino 5 or early Rhino 6) may not support newer authentication protocols if you are using a modern Cloud Zoo license. Updating the software often resolves the handshake failure.
