Img2img Alternative Test Jun 2026

Contrary to standard generation, higher CFG scales (often around 2.0 or higher) are sometimes needed to ensure the prompt is followed while maintaining the original's essence.

We didn't use standard Img2Img. Instead, we used Generative Fill on the entire canvas. Selection: "Whole Image." Prompt: "Biomechanical library, organic cables, flesh-metal hybrid." img2img alternative test

If you have only one source image, this fails. If you have three images of the same character, this beats all the alternatives above for character consistency. Contrary to standard generation, higher CFG scales (often

Unless you need local offline processing, the denoising slider is obsolete. Flux or DALL-E produce better results in 1/10th the time. Selection: "Whole Image

Firefly preserved the edges of the canvas perfectly because it technically thinks it's "inpainting" an existing photo. However, the internal textures looked plastic. It refused to make anything "scary" or "dark," defaulting to glossy corporate aesthetics.

CycleGAN produces high-quality images, but the output can be inconsistent at times. It also requires significant computational resources and can be challenging to train.

This was the shocker. Flux Pro maintained the exact perspective lines of the original sketch better than ControlNet does in SDXL. The denoising was aggressive enough to change the medium entirely (pencil to photon), but the structural integrity was 98% preserved. No "melting."
