The original Neo Geo AES (Advanced Entertainment System) was a home console that was essentially identical to the MVS (Multi Video System) arcade cabinets. However, the games were prohibitively expensive. SNK later released the Neo Geo CD system, which used optical media (CDs) instead of expensive cartridges. While the load times were longer, the games were much cheaper and often featured remixed soundtracks.
