As of October 2020, Cochrane disconnected RevMan 5.3 from its central servers. Users are encouraged to use RevMan Web for active Cochrane reviews.
RevMan is proprietary software owned by the Cochrane Collaboration. However, Cochrane provides it for academic and non-commercial research use.
Once logged in, go to “My Account” → “My Downloads” or directly to RevMan download page. If version 5.3 is no longer listed prominently, look for an “Archive” or “Previous versions” link. Sometimes the direct file is named RevMan_5.3_installer.exe for Windows or .dmg for Mac.
Direct official downloads for version 5.3 are no longer supported by Cochrane, as they have transitioned users toward RevMan Web and the final desktop version, .
Your Cochrane account must be activated. Check your email for a confirmation link. Also, ensure you have agreed to the latest Cochrane software agreement by logging into the website first.
