The eventual winner of Season 1, Tejasvini Singh, was a force of nature. Hailing from a small town, she possessed a rare ability to switch between classical complexity and pop simplicity within seconds. Her rendition of "Mere Dushman Tu Meri Dua" is still considered one of the greatest live performances in reality TV history. Her victory proved that hardcore vocal ability trumps physical appearance in a blind singing competition.

Known primarily as one of Bollywood’s most successful directors, Karan Johar’s inclusion was a masterstroke. While he wasn't a technical music expert, his perspective was grounded in the emotional narrative of songs. He judged performances based on how they would look on the big screen and whether they possessed the "X factor" required for a star. His witty banter, emotional connection with contestants, and sharp production sensibilities added a layer of glamour to the show.
