This is the big one. In globe.jar , the client was dumb (by design). All the complex JavaScript execution happened on Opera’s servers in Oslo or Iceland. Your phone just received a screenshot-map of where to put the cursor. This meant you could "use" Google Docs on a Nokia C3. You couldn't edit anything, but you could see it. That felt like time travel.
