Here’s a review of Daft Punk – Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem on Blu-ray ISO format:

Many believe that Thomas Bangalter (who has a reputation for analog purism) would prefer a genuine 4K scan to a disc. Until that day comes, the remains the definitive way to experience Interstella 5555 on a home theater projector or OLED screen.

The ISO file preserves the full bitrate of the video stream. Unlike "ripped" MKV files which might re-encode the video to save space (introducing blockiness or color banding), the ISO is a mirror of the master. This ensures that the neon lights of the space casino and the dark blues of the Crescendolls' homeworld look crisp and authentic.

The 1080p AVC encode preserves the cel-shaded, hand-drawn aesthetic beautifully. Colors pop—vibrant reds, deep space blacks, and the neon glow of instruments. While the source material has inherent softness (no CGI gloss), the Blu-ray ISO offers a clean, grain-respecting transfer. Expect occasional minor aliasing, but it’s far superior to DVD upscales.
