There is no active open-source driver for the FireWire 1814 on modern macOS. Unlike RME or Focusrite, M-Audio did not release hardware specs to the public. Some users have reported success using with Windows 10, and the legacy Windows FireWire driver (the “Legacy OHCI” driver trick) works perfectly. The 1814 is rock-solid on Windows 10 if you have FireWire hardware.
