Before ReCycle, manipulating audio loops was a clumsy affair. If you had a drum loop recorded at 100 BPM but your song was 120 BPM, you had two choices: speed the sample up (changing the pitch and making the drums sound like chipmunks) or time-stretch it (which often resulted in muddy, artifact-heavy audio).
