Set in the 1990s in the Chhattisgarh-Tamil Nadu border region, Jai Bhim follows the true story of a landmark legal battle. A tribal woman, Senggeni (played by Lijomol Jose), files a habeas corpus petition after her husband, Rajakannu (Manikandan), is arrested by the police and subsequently goes missing. The case is taken up by Justice K. Chandru (fictionalized as Advocate Chandru, played by Suriya), who fights systemic caste oppression and police brutality.
