Resident Evil 4 was so ambitious—featuring high-resolution (for 2005) pre-rendered backgrounds, full 3D environments, voice acting, and complex cutscenes—that it exceeded this limit. Capcom split the game into two distinct chapters:
✅ Own a legal copy of RE4 (GameCube or PS2). ✅ Dump Disc 1 to ISO/RVZ/CHD. ✅ Download Dolphin 5.0-21090 or newer. ✅ Set graphics backend to Vulkan (or Direct3D 12). ✅ Play until the castle elevator – swap to Disc 2 after Salazar. ✅ Save often – original RE4 has no autosave. RESIDENT EVIL 4 - DISC 1 ROM
Even with a perfect , you may encounter issues: ✅ Dump Disc 1 to ISO/RVZ/CHD
Your progress is saved to a virtual Memory Card. When you swap to Disc 2, the game will read your Disc 1 save file to continue your inventory and upgrades ✅ Play until the castle elevator – swap
