In 1969, a group of kids invent a secret symbol and a story about a villain trying to destroy the world. In 1999, that symbol is showing up at the scenes of apocalyptic cult murders. One of those kids, now a convenience store manager, realizes an old friend is actually trying to end the world. Why read it: Naoki Urasawa (same author as Monster ) is a god of suspense. This is a mystery spanning 50 years. It is about the nostalgia of childhood vs. the horror of adulthood. There is no complete anime. You must read the manga (specifically the "Perfect Edition" omnibuses).

The beauty of this medium is that there is a perfect series for you —whether you want to watch a chef cook magical food ( Food Wars! ), a cyclist climb a mountain ( Yowamushi Pedal ), or a 400-year-old undead wizard take a selfie ( Mashle: Magic and Muscles ).
