While Fujimoto subverts many tropes, the early arcs heavily sexualize Power, Makima, and others through Denji’s (and the camera’s) gaze. This is partly critique of shonen norms and Denji’s immaturity, but it can feel exploitative rather than insightful. Later parts improve, but it’s a hurdle.
