It takes place in a world where the earth has become poisonous, and humanity lives on floating continents in the sky.
The narrative follows Sagi, a spiriter (a government assassin), and his companion, Guillo. Unlike many JRPGs of the era that relied on tired tropes of amnesia or "the power of friendship," Origins delivers a surprisingly mature and politically charged story.
