Limo Patrol - Lily Thai ^new^ -
A disgraced elite driver turned night-shift limo patroller must protect a high-profile client from a ruthless syndicate, using only her wits, a beat-up scanner, and the unwritten rules of the black car world.
“Because,” Lily said, “this isn’t about your brother finding you. It’s about him finding your driver. He doesn’t want to kill you, Sienna. He wants to make you afraid to run. And the only way to do that is to get to you through the people who help you.” Limo Patrol - Lily Thai
Lily reached into her jacket and pulled out a worn leather badge holder. Inside was a cracked ID from Black Diamond Executive Protection—a firm that had gone under three years ago. “Because I used to be the driver for the Chinese ambassador’s dissident daughter. Got her out of Shanghai in the trunk of a stretched Cadillac. Cost me my license and my career. But she’s alive. She’s teaching law in Vancouver.” A disgraced elite driver turned night-shift limo patroller
The scanner buzzed. Lily pressed the button. He doesn’t want to kill you, Sienna
“Lily, thank God. She won’t get out. She just keeps saying ‘not safe, not safe.’ And there are these guys…” He pointed toward a black SUV idling across the street. “They’ve been there since we pulled in.”
Lily’s jaw tightened. Sienna Vance—twenty-three, six Grammys, a billion streams, and a restraining order against her brother, Kael, who ran the Red Jade syndicate out of Bangkok and Macau. Two months ago, Kael’s men had allegedly firebombed Sienna’s tour bus. No one was charged. The case went cold.
Lily didn’t shake it. She stood up, pulled on her patrol jacket, and looked at Sienna one last time.
