The mod alters the standard jump velocity. Instead of a fixed vertical hop, Spunky Boost calculates your current horizontal momentum. If you are running, the jump height and distance are slightly amplified, allowing for a "parkour feel" without making the game too easy. This allows players to clear 3-block gaps with a running start, a feat impossible in vanilla.
