For many, the PlayStation 1 era holds a sacred title known simply as Digimon World . It was a cryptic, difficult, and utterly charming game that tasked players with raising a Digimon partner in a bustling, organic world. For years, fans clamored for a true sequel that captured that specific brand of monster-raising simulation. In 2016 (and 2017 for the West), Bandai Namco answered that call with Digimon World: Next Order .

You begin your journey in Floatia, a dilapidated town that serves as your base of operations. The Town Building mechanic is perhaps the most satisfying loop in the game. The Digital World is filled with wandering Digimon who have lost their way or are content with their solitary lives. Your job is to recruit them.

Always carry Meaty Stew. It heals HP and MP for both partners simultaneously. Without it, you will wipe to random battles.

If you are jumping into the Digital World for the first time, here is your survival guide:

Here’s a to Digimon World: Next Order , covering everything from starting out to endgame. The goal is to help you raise strong Digimon, manage the town, and beat the main story.

But with life comes death. A Digimon’s lifespan is finite. When their time is up, they pass away, leaving behind a Digi-Egg. This might sound heartbreaking to the uninitiated, but it is the engine of progression. Every generation inherits "Inheritance Points" (stats and skills carried over from the previous life) and begins with a higher baseline of power. This cycle encourages experimentation. Did your previous Greymon die young? Reincarnate him and aim for a MetalGreymon, or perhaps diverge entirely and try for a Monzaemon.

To get Mega forms, you need stats around 3000–4000+ and very low care mistakes. You cannot get Mega in first generation unless you grind perfectly.
