Jawbreaker

Depending on the size, a single can take anywhere from two days to three weeks to manufacture. The infamous "Giant Jawbreaker" (often the size of a billiard ball) takes over 20 days of layering before it is ready to hit the shelf.

Jawbreaker ’s aesthetic is its own language. Costume designer Frank Helmer dressed the Florals in a hyper-stylized palette of baby pink, lavender, and mint green—all against a world of beige high school hallways. Courtney’s transformation into a living piece of bubblegum (pink cashmere, pink platforms, a pink cell phone) is visual irony at its finest. The "Everlasting" myth persists. While real do eventually dissolve, many children in the 70s and 80s believed that if you bit into the center of a jawbreaker , you would find a "sour core" or a liquid center.
