Lili en Marleen is a beloved Flemish soap-opera / family drama that aired on from September 1994 to May 2009. Set in the fictional working-class neighborhood "de Rodenbachwijk" in Antwerp, the series centers on the lives, loves, feuds, and friendships of the residents – most notably the title characters.

Most episodes take place in the Antwerp pub run by Mother Lisa , a hospitable woman who often welcomes "snoopers" and those in need, much to the annoyance of her profit-driven brother, Rik .
